I recently discovered that some of the artisan bakeries near me offer a 50-60% discount on breads an hour before closing. I get freshly baked bread at an even cheaper price than the supermarket. I've eaten so many sandwiches after discovering this! Now I'm looking for deals like this that can save me money or get me eating better food. I've heard some rotisserie chicken stands also do closing discounts, but I'm not a fan of their chicken and it doesn't last very long, even in the fridge. Other kinds of food deals/sales are also welcome!
When I have gotten everything on my list, I walk the aisles looking for deals like this. I have found things like buy one get one free on a salsa brand I love and ended up getting like 8 jars, which lasted me a long time and really saved me quite a bit. I have also found amazing bargains on soon to expire yogurts and cottage cheese. One grocery store I used to go to would put a 99 cents sticker on any refrigerated item that was expiring that day to get them to sell. Since manufacturers guarantee you have 5 days after the printed date, I jumped on this every time because I saved so much on it.
This too! I never buy cream because it's so expensive (I usually buy cream substitutes) but I found some about to expire and they were half off. Unfortunately, now that I've tasted coffee with real cream I can't go back to the fake stuff.
