There is this trend where we have seen that many large shopping entities have been downsizing or closing down, however, these clouseouts have been taken over by other established shopping organizations. This would mean that the level of ccompetition in the shopping trade is probably not as intense as it was previously. I am wondering if these new super shopping entities will use the possible decrease in competition to their advantage by withdrawing some of the previous concessions that were previously extended to shoppers.
Initially I expect that this will be bad for shoppers but there's a high likelihood that more people will be doing online shopping and high prices in brick and mortar stores might be what forces more people to start doing their shopping online just so they don't get ripped off. Since there's more competition online there'll always be great deals to be found.
