I guess I should have added that it will be grilled steak. Do you have a favorite red that you prefer to enjoy with such a meal? I'd like to find something that goes well, but doesn't cost a fortune. I don't want a three buck chuck or a box of wine either. I'm not going for absolute cheapest of all cheap on this. I just want to find something nice yet not to painful in the pocketbook. I will appreciate any suggestions.
I love to pair a steak with a Merlot but preference is preference. If you're looking for ridiculously reasonable prices I would look to a Trader Joe's in your area. They're infamous for their cheap wines. In monetary value not taste.
