There are 2 genre of movies that I do not watch. First is horror because I don't want to be scared. I am one of those typical movie audience who cover their eyes when the scene is scary. And then I would ask my husband what happened, huh. Another genre is action. Pardon me but I really cannot come to terms with an action movie because I have yet to see an action movie that coincides with logic. Especially the fight scenes, they are not realistic at all. And then the dying scene where the killer is about to kill the hero but he would talk very long until the hero finds a way to upend the killer.

Movie tickets here are very expensive now, costing more than $5 so we cannot just watch any kind of movie. We have to be choosy in parting with our money.

I avoid horror movies automatically. But I also avoid movies that have cruelty and lots of violence with gore. Nope. Not my idea of a good time.

I will watch virtually any genre of movie, depending on my mood. However, I really used to love horror flicks, but have strayed away from them recently. I think it all started with the popularity of the "Saw" movies for me. It was all about blood and guts and just made me think how desensitized we are to all that stuff anymore. It's no wonder that we have people killing strangers gruesomely all over the U.S. Granted, there were tons of horror movies in the 80's when I was a kid. They were scary, but most of the time you saw the chase scene and maybe some blood. You rarely saw anything like actually body parts being dismembered from a live person's body while it was happening. Someone may find a finger or a head, but it was after the fact. Perhaps I have turned into a prude in my old age, but I just don't find it quite as entertaining anymore.

I avoid 2 genres of movies. The first one being scary or horror movies. My imagination is a furtle place. After seeing a horror film i am often scared for days if not weeks. The second genre is violent movies. I do not enjoy repeated shooting, bloody fights and gorey scenes. If any of you have watches season 1 of Daredevil you understand what i mean.

I don't generally like movies that are too bloody and violent, but that is subjective, because some movies like Pulp Fiction, and certain war movies I have enjoyed. I guess just violence and gore for the sake of violence and gore I don't like. Also, some movies seem to be aimed at frat boys...and I don't like those silly stupid movies at all. Any movie that shows in the previews some guy getting hit in the nether regions...like it's high entertainment is probably not going to be one I enjoy.

Anything horror related is on my do not watch list. Even if they may interest me and I can sit through and watch them. I still can't help but be paranoid after watching them. Which is weird because I find myself very interested with horror films.

I try to avoid movies with too much blood and violence. Also too much nudity and sex scenes is something that bothers me because some times I watch movies with the rest of my family and that makes me feel quite uncomfortable.

I avoid romantic movies, big action movies, and some children's movies. I am interested in animation so if the children's movie has a good style - like the stop-motion from Laika studios or the Song of the Sea art style - I will definitely go check it out. The recent trend of CGI sequels bores me though.

I love to watch comedies and horror movies in a theater though. I think that shared emotion can't be beat. Hearing the laughter or the screams of the crowd is great.

I avoid horror movies and kid movies. I really cant stand the jump scares in horror movies, it just gives me anxiety and is not a enjoyable experience. Kid movies are pretty self explanatory since im not a kid anymore and dont have any just yet.

I'm not much into experimental indie films although I've seen some that are good. Most of them are either too boring or too traumatizing but I suppose, somewhere, the stories have happened in real life. There are so many kinds of films out there and I wouldn't normally pick just one favored genre because I'm after the story, no matter the genre.

I usually avoid any movies that I find depressing. The point of watching a movie is to relax. I also avoid movies that have an unrealistic plot like superhero movies such as Captain America and the likes.

I rarely watch a movie but if ever comedy and action movies interest me. And what I hate watching are horror movies too. Before there are few instances where my family had watched horror movies and I had no choice because I am with them I watched it too. And you know what happened I am always shouting inside the movie house and I was a teenager at that time. Just old time memories but until now I am still avoiding watching this kind of movies.

I try to prevent watching movies that have corny trailers, movies that are remakes that I don't think should be remade, but are only remade because of the money they can make, and over-rated actors are generally the ones to take the roles they destroy.

All remakes I have seen these days are whack. There is a new King Kong coming out, I don't want to see it, they just decided to make king kong 10 times bigger, plus the cast is not one that I wanted to see. It's like they think these cast members really will sell tickets. They get a bunch of actors in semi-popular movies, put them together and call it a box office hit, that ends up losing money.

As for me, I am a bird of the same feather as the OP. I hate action films especially those packed with bloody and violent horror scenes as well as those with undertones of witchcraft and the occult. Ditto with pornographic films. I love to watch documentaries instead or films which depict the real story with no undue exaggerations as to what actually happened in the past.

These days I find modern movies like a lot of gore, extreme violence and blood, which isn't always justified. I don't like that type of thing so much I find it hard to actual watch. So I just avoid them. We don't always have to be shown the gory details, detail for detail. It's just pointless and you have to wonder about the reason for doing it.

I don't avoid movies. That's because I watch them at home on my streaming service. I don't watch movies very often, too. In fact, the last time I watched a movie was something like two months ago. When I do feel like watching a movie, I would just log into my streaming site and browse through whatever is available. I would watch the first couple of minutes. If the movie holds my interest, I would keep on watching. If not, I would go to the next.

No Horror flicks here anymore either. Those type of movies are being made to mess with your mind in all types of ways. I try to stick to independent movies that have a message and are based on a true story. Fortunately there are a lot more of those coming out as of lately. Most probably due to public demand for more reality based entertainment.

I avoid dramas, love and ''inspiring'' movies. They bore me half to death. Some CAN be good but in my experience at least, most of them have been extremely boring.
