This past week or so I've made several batches of chili. You can very easily make it super healthy and low fat, without compromising on really bold flavor and it being very filling. If I want to make it healthier and a little easier on my wallet I will use only 1/2 lb of lean ground beef instead of a full pound, and throw in an extra can of beans instead of the usual one can of beans that I normally use (dark red kidney and black beans). Heck, I could even stretch it out further with three cans of beans and I probably wouldn't mind at all. Even diced potatoes would work too. If I make it extra spicy, not only does it make the food more exciting, but it keeps me from eating it too quickly, so I take my time in between bites.

Omelettes are another favorite, even for lunch or dinner - they don't just have to be a breakfast thing. Plus they are a great way to use up leftover scraps of stuff.

I would say that my healthy dish would have to be a plain old salad or a bowl of fruits. I do not think that they there is any way that you can be more healthier when you eat a bowl of fruits. Right now I am trying to follow the diet that it in the ultramind solution and it is taking you away from eating so much red meat which I think is the thing in our diets that is making a lot of us sick.

It's addiction. I understand not wanting to "sacrifice the joy of eating", but very few people actually attempt it long enough. It takes the taste buds at least two weeks to adjust back.. and it takes wanting to be healthy. Like, really really wanting it. I could never get healthy because of the yummy bad for me foods.. but once I was serious and actually cared about my future self enough to make sure she was ok, I found it much easier to stick out that two weeks. Otherwise, I would have gone into it hating the food and you just sabotage yourself that way. Once I decided processed foods weren't even an option.. shopping for and eating the right foods became a million times easier and I made the best of it until my buds and body adjusted and now I can't eat any other way. I don't like the taste of unhealthy food anymore.

And I agree with the person above me.. there is a lot of debate on the matter, but animal products are terrible for you. People will find all the science they want to back up their habits, that's fine, but I personally have seen many more people backing up what I truly believe now, in the way of reversing heart disease and many MANY more issues. Many issues can be reversed on any whole foods diet.. but that's the part that's helping them. The whole foods, not the dead animals. In my opinion (and science lol)

My favorite healthy dish would be caesar salad. I just love veggies so much with small strips of meat (bacon). I also like the Korean dishes called bibimbap and kimchi. Very delicious and nutritious.

I love a good stir fry. It is a very healthy thing to eat. You can add finely chopped greens, vegetables, bean sprouts, onions, sweet corn with noodles to pieces of chicken, prawns etc and add some soy sauce and fry them up. Delicious!
