Does anyone here take water aerobics classes? Where do you take them? I'd like to try to find some without having to join a gym and need some ideas for where to look. Thanks!

Your local municipal swimming pool may offer classes - it doesn't have to be a gym. I don't go to classes, but I do perform aqua aerobics when I go for a swim. You can pick up quite a few on the Internet, or you can just do regular exercises under water. The resistance provided by the water pressure makes them much more effective than doing them on land. I always spend a few minutes jogging in place in the water. I can't jog on land due to joint problems, but I can manage it in the water, and I don't get hot and sweaty either.

I don't know of anywhere, but I'm sure that schools and civic centers would offer classes like that. I don't know your area, but you can find it pretty easily I would imagine.

I really enjoy water aerobics. I have taken classes at my local YMCA. I have also taken classes at the local community college through community extension.

I had taken these classes a few years ago at the local YMCA there were some classes at the university aquatic center. You can also try places that have a pool and even some gyms that may offer the program. Ask your friends, chances are you know someone who is done it or has done it in the past.

Try your local YWCA or YMCA, they usually have classes for water therapy. I used to go to try to help with my arthritis, It was very good treatment. I stopped going after I fell in the water and could not get up, due to my bad back and the teacher just stood looking at me bob up and down in the water, as I was not shouting to anybody to help me, saying to myself they can see me. I thought I was going to drown in front of spectators. I was very angry.

Learning how to swimming does not have to be boring or traumatic but can actually be many fun, if the right strategy to diving training is used. YWCA, good one in this regard. I recently learning the butterfly stroke.

If you have a YMCA nearby they will most likely have classes. The one that I live nearby has weekly classes and I'm pretty sure they are good enough.

I have not seen any from my area that offers water aerobics. that must really be interesting. But I think not all can perform this. I assume it requires the ability to swim. I do not even know how to swim! And some I know are afraid to go deep, me included. But it is really true that swimming is a very good way of doing cardio exercises. All swimmers have toned bodies. I love the shape of their shoulders!
