Which is your favorite big box department store, Walmart or Target? Why?

I have no choice but to say Walmart. The closest target to me is over a 2 hour drive.

I go to Walmart for a lot of things cause their prices are usually the best. Seems like I am going there once a week at least. However I would rather go to Target. I like it more than Walmart. I'd probably go there more if we had a super Target instead of a little one.

I would need to say Wal-Mart. I have shopped in both stores in the past but many times in comparison I find better prices at Wal-Mart and better deals. I also know that Wal Mart has a much larger inventory than Target which is really something I look for when I am shopping. A lady needs choices :)

I usually shop at Wal-Mart, especially if I need grocery items. Their prices are usually the lowest in my area. The thing I don't like about Wal-Mart is that it always takes so long to check out. They recently closed our Target store. The nice thing about it was that it wasn't very crowded, so you could get in and out very quickly...maybe that is the reason they closed. :) It was a family tradition to buy school supplies at Target, but now all of my business is directed at Wal-Mart.

I am going to Wal-Mart more than I go to Target, so I guess that would have to be my favorite between the two stores. If I do go to Target, it is because I found something online that they have and Wal-Mart doesn't. I think the last time I went, it was for curtain panels. Our Wal-Mart is fairly new and it is a good place to shop. It is nice to be able to get groceries and other non-grocery items in the same place for prices that are just hard to beat.

I prefer Target because it's cleaner than Walmart. When I go to the Walmart by my house there is food and clothes on the floor. Target has neater isles, but the service at Target is not the best.

Oh definitely Target! Their products are higher quality and their store is neater and laid out better, less cluttered than Wal-Mart.

Unfortunately, the nearest Target to me is about 45 minutes away and Wal-Mart is just up the street. So even though I like Target better, I'm at Wal-Mart more because it's closer to me.

I like walmart, because the prices are cheaper. Plus, they have EVERYTHING at Walmart. The target here doesn't have like any groceries. I think Walmart has more to choose from.

Target all the way. Walmart is awful. I would much rather pay a little bit more at Target so I don't have to go to Walmart. The Walmart's in my area are trashy, dirty, and crowded due to low prices (forced).

I prefer the quality of Target, but Wal-mart has the best prices on food and usually a better assortment of items, so I usually end up there.

The prices are better for the things I buy at my Walmart store. I like that even though there are a lot of foreign made items in Walmart, it is an American store so Americans support America by shopping at Walmart. If I look close enough I can find American made items in Walmart and have not discovered a whole lot of American made items at Target. I like the greeters at Walmart and the sales people at my Walmart are very friendly compared to Target that seem to be rare to find and then not very helpful or nice either.

I guess I'd have to go with Walmart even through they have extra taxes slapped on at most Walmarts I've been to. The reason being that Walmart has a larger selection, has generally lower prices (not nearly the lowest), and I know most of the people from shopping at my closest one since I was alot younger.

I prefer Wal-Mart. They have better prices and match prices... If you can combine matching prices and coupons, you really save a lot. Target, well, I only go there when there's a huge sale...
Wal-Mart also has a better customer service, and the staff are a lot friendlier.

I have always preferred Wal-Mart over Target due to prices. Target just seems so much more expensive for any item. I have started liking Target more now though due to the fact that they recently renovated the one by my house. The renovations make the store completely Eco-Friendly with fridge lights that only turn on when people are near them. The carts look really cool too so I almost feel like I am in the future when I go to Target :p

I prefer Target because their products are of better quality. However, Walmart is more convenient and is cheaper. It all depends on which store is closer to wherever I currently am.

I love Walmart, the price is more in line with my budget. Without this type of pricing I would never be able to get anything! So hopefully this helps out even if the quality of the products are not as high.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you want the better price and you aren't overly brand/label oriented in your purchases...Walmart all the way. If you don't mind spending a little more for a little bit more trend and a little smaller selection in some areas, such as grocery, hardware, automotive, etc...then Target. To be honest, Walmart collects much of my income. But I do like Target to. And yeah, I admit it.

There is not a single walmart in New York City. Not a single one. The closest one is out in the suburbs, and is a two hour bus-and-train ride. Target is much more accessible to us. That being said, the prices at walmart are cheaper. I would only go to walmart to save a lot of money on a fairly big-ticket item (like my adroid tablet, which my husband bought for me from walmart) because otherwise, it's just not worth it.

I shop at Target because I have one close to my house. It is a clean store, and I'm happy with most of the merchandise I get from there. I despise going to Walmart - just trying to find a close parking spot is a hassle the first hassle, and then you have to spend 2 hours dealing with long lines, clueless employees, weird people (sorry, but it's true), and messy aisles. Then you have to walk a mile just to get back to your car, IF you can remember where you parked. No thanks - I avoid Walmart most of the time, unless I'm in the marke for a big-ticket item that I can't find cheaper anywhere else.
