Most people know their rights but often don't complain when they get services that is less than satisfactory of receive low quality goods or a defective product especially when they didn't spend a lot of money. This is handy to know, but people should always try and approach the company directly and then use another party to help out. If claims are valid (and legal) then it is much easier to sort things out and most sensible companies will settle or resolve things quickly so as not to get any bad publicity. There is always social media too, and that pushes a company to respond as long as the posts aren't deleted.
