My mum always tells me to put more clothes on if I'm cold :p Walking around in thick socks, joggers and a nice thick cosy jumper all the time at night :p

Closing my door helps loads with the heat as it gets very cold in our hallway

Reseal all windows and doors once a year.
    Properly maintain all heating/AC equip.
Don't be soft and just wear warm clothes inside.
Only heat the room you use.
My favorite so far is the hot water pipes being insulated never would have thought that one.
How about cooking. I bake a lot more in the winter and grill in the summer.
Also get a directional ceiling fan. One way for summer and the other for winter, cuts down on heating/cooling usage.

You can also use capacitors connected to solar cells during dry weather and then use this electrical energy to heat your rooms during winter. Its also an effective method to insulate your room from the weather by padding it with with hardboards and other insulators which would conserve heat in the house.
