I would prefer to shop at neither. For quality things, like clothing, I would rather shop at Target. Walmart is simply too cheap for that and I wouldn't expect them to last at all. For most other things, especially products like toiletries and whatnot, I would stick with Walmart.

Even though there isn't a Target in Canada yet (First ones opening in 2013). I am a total Target fan. There support and staff have always been the best in my mind. They seem to actually care, instead of most of times I'm at walmart, and they dont care.

I do tend to go to Walmart more because the one near home is a Super Walmart and they have more products. It saves me the trouble of running around to other stores to pick up other things. As for customer service, the Walmart we have in town isn't too bad compared to some other ones I've been to.

I work at Target. They put customers/guests before staff, but thats a good thing I guess. :)

So have you shopped at Walmart? And if so what would you say is the main difference between them? Also how does Target put the guests before the staff?

I like Walmart. Target has a cool image, cool commercials, and budget lines by designers. Target is the hipster discount store where college kids love to shop. Walmart is an unpretentious blue collar place with cheap prices where I've bought Christmas decorations for 90 percent off. I like both places but for different reasons. When I was younger, I was a Target girl. I bought everything new and didn't care about being frugal. I bought a $45 throw pillow at Target once, which seems crazy to me now.
Now that I'm a coupon clipping mom that shops at garage sales, I'm more comfortable at Walmart.

I prefer Wal-Mart because it is closer, cheaper, more convenient, and they price match. Even if we had a Target close by, I would probably still shop at Wal-Mart. I can get nearly everything I need there and our local store is pretty well organized. Equally as important, I know where everything is so I can get in and out quickly. I like Target for their casual clothing, but everything else seems a little pricey.

I, too, believe that Target is cleaner than Walmart. I also think that their cashiers are a bit friendlier.

Speaking of Walmart...I was there a couple days ago and saw two women get into a verbal fight in the store. Wow! They acted like little kids throwing tantrums. And their language! Never mind that one of the women had a small child with her.

Sadly, given the store I was in, I wasn't too suprised to see this.

I like Wal-Mart better compared to Target. It is way cheaper and I do find affordable quality items. You don't have to spend a fortune to get quality. The only way I go to Target is if they have something that I can't find anywhere else.

I think that I would chose Target over Walmart, but for a different reason. The negative things that I hear, are turning me off.

It's interesting that you ask because a lot of times when I'm at Target it feels like I'm at Walmart. The reason for this, I suppose, is because of the similarities like the products and the size of the stores. Personally, I prefer going to Walmart because its closer but everyone has their personal preference.

Target. Better item quality and a great customer service ( atleast compared to Wal-Mart). I've been burnt by Walmart's customer service before. Some things are cheaper in Walmart though, but the overall quality of goods is much better in Target, so I guess to me it comes down to Quality versus Quantity. I always go for Quality.

I like Walmart because I know where everything is and the prices but if I have a few extra bucks I will got to Target because it is cleaner and there are a lot of sexy women that shop there. It doesn't matter when you go...you will always find some sexy little piece to follow around and stare at the rear door.

I feel the same way! I HATE going to Walmart. The parking is impossible, the store is huge and I just don't like it. Target is a different story! LOVE the layout of the store, great clothing, fabulous home ware, etc. I go check it out at least twice a week!

Target for me. Better selection (for me, at least), usually better customer service at every store, cleaner, more organized. I like Wal-mart in small doses but most of the time, Target is all I need.

For me it just depends on what I am buying. Household items, groceries, and beauty products it just makes sense to buy them at Walmart, because its the same brand, just cheaper prices. But clothes, I prefer target, just because the quality is better and the clothes last a bit longer. The styles also seem a bit more trendy.

I prefer Target. Target is clean, well staffed, and has friendly customer service in my area. WalMart is the exact opposite here. It seems like every time I go to WalMart, I have to wait 30 minutes at the checkout. I avoid going if I can. I have a Super Target down the road and it's the best place. I LOVE it. I've seen their food prices and they're comparable to Wal-Marts. Some things are a little more, but I've also seen some things for less. As far as their other departments, Target tends to be a little more in price, but I think it's better quality. And they actually do have sales and clearance times as opposed to Wal-Mart who doesn't unless it's junk. So when I find the sales and clearance items at Target, it's just as good as Wal Mart prices. The only thing that Wal-Mart has over Target in my area is that they do have a little more selection. I go to Target first, but if they don't have something, like an air filter for my car, I grudgingly go to Wal-Mart during their slowest time of the day.

I personally love Walmart, but Target is way better. They have more merchandise to choose from and their store has a better atmosphere.

Target offers a much better shopping experience. However, Walmart is closer. On that note, though, I still don't shop at Walmart because there is a Meijer nearby.
