What's everyone else think of Target's offerings in Canada? We go there every once because they do have cute clothes for the kids, but everything else is a disaster. Shelves everywhere are empty, the store in general looks terrible. The staff are worse than Wal-Mart, largely because they are all depressed because of pressure from above since the stores are failing. Last night they wouldn't sell me a cell phone because their systems were down. They literally wouldn't shut up and take my money.
I'm surprised to hear this because Canada has a great reputation for having nice people and good customer service in their businesses. I wonder what it is about Target's business model that made it a bad fit for Canada.
As best as I can tell (I read a news article) it is a combination of things. Overall it just seems like they rushed Target to Canada and it didn't work out the way they wanted.. Now pressure from higher ups is ruining everyone's mood there..
