a 2L bottle of pepsi seems to be varying between 90p and £2 quite wildly, it seems it moves up and down ever 2 weeks in most UK supermarkets. This seems strange as I won't even bother buying at £2 because I know the price will come down soon enough before I've exhausted my previous supply.

Pringle also seem to be part of this, but not quite as wildly.

Supermarkets price match which is why they fluctuate because many have to price match otherwise they will lose out. You'll find when a store has a promotion, nearby ones will match it. I used to mystery shop a certain supermarket to check the competitors prices for this reason.

What I do is check the shelf ticket as it will state the date the offer expires in small print in the corner.

Well this is certainly nothing new, at least around here. I am pretty sure that this is the case everywhere, though, and it makes sense when you think about it. I know that the prices of perishable goods is always up and down, and when you can time it right you can really save a good amount of money. I think that it just has to do with the supply that they have and what they need to make shelf space for. If they need to get rid of certain items, then they will put them on sale. You just gotta be smart and alert and ready to pounce on the deals when they come. Thanks for sharing.
