Just like almost everyone here, I find it strange to pick just one since both should be present to complete a meal. But if I have to make a choice between the two (if both soup and desert is good) then I would probably go for the desert. I'm not use to taking soup before a meal anyway. :D

Coffee and soup sounds interesting. :) I assume that the soup would be served before the main dish. I usually choose soup as a starter, and after the main dish I have a coffee. I am usually quite full after that, and fruit or other sweet desserts tend to upset my stomach. The same goes with drinking beverages during meals. It always gives me indigestion.

Actually after my vacation I found that place closed and a new one is open, so I guess these menus are gone. The new place's prices are awesome, almost half the other place, but the food quality is not as good, even if these offer plate, soup, dessert and even a bread. The quantities are smaller too.

It depends on the meal I'm having, I guess. Also what time of day and what kind of soup. Lol. I'd be hesitant to eat a dessert after lunch because it would make me feel full and tired in the afternoon. At night I'd spring for the dessert as a nice ending to the day. This all depends on the soup choice, of course! It would have to be a good one because I have a sweet tooth.

How strange! Both combinations of food items don't seem like they really go together. Soup and coffee? and you have to choose between the two? It just seems like a random choice that don't relate at all.

At any rate, Dessert all the way! Never really been a fan of soup except when I'm sick

Soup. I prefer savoury to sweet any as I've never had a sweet tooth. Also deserts give me a sugar crash and I feel bad later, but soups make me fill full and satisfied for a long while. Not that I don't have desert occasionally, I just prefer soup if given the choice.

The choice between soup or dessert would all depend on how I was feeling at the time. Sugar sometimes makes me ill, so if my bloodsugar level wasn't agreeing with me then I would definitely choose soup. If I was having a good day however then dessert it would be! It's always nice to have a yummy treat to compliment a fine meal. Then again, I enjoy dipping bread in a bowl of soup if it accompanies my meal choice; that would be yet another factor to the equation. Very tricky indeed.

Huh, that's interesting. I've always heard of soup coming before a meal, never after, but if I had to choose, I would definitely pick the dessert, it just wouldn't seem right having soup after having an entree. One of the local restaurants I go to, always serves banana or carrot bread while you're waiting for your food which I've always loved.

Your lucky you have a restaurant near you that has economic choices like that. I wish more restaurants around where I live would offer that option. Anyway, I would have to say I would pick the dessert! The other foods you are eating are pretty healthy in general, as long as it is in moderation.

I love dessert so that would be hard for me to pass up. :) The way I look at it is like this... if you deprive yourself the things you love you will only want them more. That usually means overindulging! You don't necessarily need to eat the entire dessert maybe just half. Then you will feel satisfied and not deprived.

I have lost weight over the last few years living by that motto. :)

I would choose the dessert. I like a little sweetness after a meal and soup is not sweet. Soup is just like a extra part of the meal and with the bread it really is not that healthy. I do not eat healthy because I do not have to worry about getting over weight so I would enjoy the dessert if it looks good.

That is a fact, one of the good things about working in a student campus is that we can eat at the price they eat. I can't say that the food is awesome, but at the end of the month it does pay off the effort of standing in those lines waiting. At the same time, I feel like a student again. :)
