I want to share the trick of my mother during lean time. My father was a horse trainer so the income is not fixed, sometimes good, sometimes none. My mother would buy the so called soup bones that are bones with some traces of meat. She would boil the bones and use the broth for the macaroni soup. I remember my siblings when the macaroni is served, they would be asking where the meat is.

But in fairness to my mother, that macaroni soup is the best I have tasted. And now I realize that it is healthy and nutritious as well.

Yes I am familiar with those soup bones, but I think they are now more popular being used bulalo, right? Although I never liked bulalo that much.
