Sorry I guess we're not on the same page, by a few I mean like 10 or 15 minutes. As opposed to other online earning sites that take days to reach a dollar I think it's pretty good. If you worked an hour straight on slice the pie (which I COULD Never do, but I suppose technically it's possible) you'd be making $6.00 an hour which is pretty high for most online earning schemes.
You can make more than 5$/hour if you are writing like a robot there,so its not really worthy of anyone's time ....
I was actually just working on Slicethepie but stopped for a quick break. I love this site, it's easy to make a few quick bucks here, payments are always prompt and you earn more here compared to other extra cash sites. Anyone can make around $3/hour even if your reviews do not go into depth so imagine for someone who has a little more input.
I love Slicethepie. I don't do it always. I only do it on the days where they send me emails saying that songs are 25 to 35 cents each. That is the only time I will do it. You can make 10 dollars with a little over an hour. I listen to the songs while I do my other work. When the songs are at their regular amount though I will not do it. It is great to have to get a quick 10 bucks. Just when you get the email you have to log in right away because the high payment for songs will only last a couple of hours.
When I first came across SliceThePie I was pretty excited about it. It was a cool way to hear something different while creating a little extra income. I also saw SliceThePie as a way for undiscovered artist to get exposure. These artist look forward to our critique. I enjoy helping others. I contribute from time to time. I know this website will not make me rich.
I actually joined SlicethePie in 2009 and never did anything with it. I don't know why but I sorta regret it now because it was probably better then. They're pretty strict about the reviews. I thought it would be easy for me since I love to write and I'm a music enthusiast but the problem is turning off your bias. I try to be as unbiased as I can but they would constantly feed me rap songs so I was racking my brain too much to come up with something substansive. Nevertheless I did give my best but after a while they deactivated my account and I'm never joining again unless I know they have significant improvement. It'd be great if there could be a site where you could review known artists (even if they're not very popular) for money but I guess there'd be little money in that. It's confusing though because one time they had a Kanye song on STP so I don't see how it would be impossible. Heck I could even do artists like the ones on Jango or Spotify because I've been a little more open minded on there. I don't understand why the artists on Jango seem to be better than the ones on Slice the Pie.
The site is not a bad one. I wouldn't walk into it expecting it to replace a job but if you need a few dollars it's an easy way to obtain them. Your ranking on the site will alter what you are being paid. The size of your reviews alters the amount you are paid. There are times when they give 'bonuses' and pay over what you usually get. The only issue I had was their Facebook page was overloaded with a lot of people complaining that the payments were cut off without reason. I have yet to experience this and have cashed out twice thus far at around 60 dollars in total.
I have an account with SliceThePie, but I stopped using it. When I wrote the reviews, I averaged .15 a post. So, the pay was not bad. However, I did not like that I had no control of the music I had to review. I found some lyrics very offensive. I did not want to hear profanities and some sexual content in the songs. It is completely unnecessary. I wish they could give the listener some control over which music to review.
It sounds like a decent idea until you started listening to the terrible music you have to review. The assault on my ears wasn't worth the pay in my opinion.
I at one point did go through the process of creating an account. I have read both positive and negative reviews about the site and the services it offers. I do think that the idea of the site, allowing independent artists an opportunity to showcase their art, is a great start. However, the amount of time that has to be spent listening and writing reviews, seems like more and more people are just writing longer yet more generic reviews to get paid. The other thing I've noticed about the site though is that many people complain that their accounts get locked up right before it's time to receive pay. I would definitely look into more reviews if I were you before committing too much time on the site.
It's taken me months to make amy $10 there. Any I am now waiting to be paid. It's been 5 days now and no luck so far. I have just tried to log into my account too, only to find I can no longer log in. I don't know what's going on but I will be so annoyed if my account is closed. I have spent hours and hours carefully listening to music and writing some good reviews there.
It's another one of those ideas that just came out short because of bad idea management. And right now i can't seem to access the place, so maybe they are closing down indefinitely, in my opinion, for their own good.
I have a slicethepie account and listen to songs every few days. I think its cool to hear new songs and give my opinion on them. It's a bit challenging to think of new ways to say to rate the song. I don't have enough money to cash out yet. I personally like doing it, it just takes listening to a lot of songs for a few cents here and there.
I have an account but I don't really think it is worth it. Even when my review are different it will still say "that sounds similar". I have barely made a dollar. I also hate to just sits for hours listening to music. The only way to make money to me is be referring people. Maybe I don't do a good job reviewing.
