    The USA has dollar stores, and the UK equivalents are pound shops. The biggest and best of these is Poundland. While some so-called pound shops have goods at higher prices, in Poundland, everything is £1 per item, with some items selling at 2 for £1. In my opinion, the best deal is on Oxo cubes, which my husband loves. A pack of 24, price marked at £1.89 is - you've guessed it - £1.

    It doesn't end there, though. We have Christmas decorations bought from Poundland years ago which have outlasted more expensive purchases, and we have quite a collection of books and DVDs from the famous green-fronted store.     Unfortunately, you cannot buy online from Poundland.
