I love onion rings but store-bought ones are expensive and never taste as good as those in restaurants. I decided to try making my own yesterday and couldn't believe how cheap and easy they were. I made deep-fried onion rings for three people at a total cost of 80p!

    Two medium onions
    150 g flour
    180 ml sparkling water.

Combine flour and water. Whisk until smooth. Slice onions into rings, coat in the batter and deep-fry for 3-4 mins at medium high heat.

That's it! Couldn't believe how well they turned out, I'll never be buying pre-made again!
