I've dealt with quite a number of network cables and in most of them the safety tab is easily broken, what makes that the cable comes out easily. Why do they make this tab so fragile, does it make sense to anyone or is it just a way to sell more cables?

I'm assuming you're referring to an ethernet cable because network cable is a far more general term that encompasses countless cables. The little plastic tab is designed to lock the cable into place on a router, computer, or other device. It's also designed for easy disengagement so that the cable can be removed and inserted again with ease. It's just a plastic tab, so they can break easily, but it's the cheapest and easiest solution. I've never once broken the plastic tab on an ethernet cable.

Yep, ethernet cable yes. Really troutski? Lucky you, I am breaking them all the time, both at work (where I deal with them), but also at home, it got stuck in the mouse cable and got broken, so now the cable gets loose all the time.
