I have always liked to cook, but a friend bought me some McCormick's "Mesquite" flavored spice to try. It is a mix of a few things but it has a wonderful full bodied and hearty flavor. I would say "smoke" but that does not do it justice. I put it on meat, in sauces and stews. I am using it on everything since it really not only adds flavor, but enhances the flavor of most ingredients. I used it in a vegetable soup and got rave reviews. I heartily recommend trying this not only for flavoring meats but also for any thing that needs a little zest.
