Yeah, I have heard of people who work at food chains turning over a new leaf as far as what they eat. It is like they are always around fast food, and so when they get home they just want to escape it and eat something healthy instead, which is a great plus. Same goes for people who work at pizza places. They very rarely ever eat pizza because they are always around it.
I rarely have this problem in our local branch nowadays that McDonalds has really gotten it's formula and structure down so I'm guessing they are a lot more organized than they ever were. If I were you I'd make a complaint or even just a constructive criticism because I'm sure they would love to know how they could better their service. I get some orders wrong too but often it's just little extras like ketchup or condiments so I don't really mind that much, and it doesn't happen too often anyway.
Thanks for replying to this. This helps ease my mind when sending an order back. I usually do avoid it because I always worry they will spit in it or something but I'm just paranoid I guess..lol Anyway I appreciate you explaining this.
I haven't had any bad fast food experiences lately in terms of messing my order up. But I definitely think McDonalds messes up orders more than most. I know when I had problems in the past it usually occurred at a McDonalds. It's probably because they have a higher volume of customers than most places so there's a lot of pressure to get orders done fast instead of a focus on quality, as is the case at places with lighter customer demands.
I also had a bad experience with McDonald's, I opted to have my food delivered, and I specifically told them to upsize my order, but I was given regular-sized drinks. I guess it's not really the whole brand's fault per se, it's the fault of the ones that they employ to do the job.
You'd probably get more nutrition out of the bag and styrofoam containers that the things masquerading as food, come in. The only reason I ever go to McDonalds is if I want to use the bathroom, that is the one and only thing they are useful for.
I recently saw a very interesting and rather telling tumblr post - so I don't know how good its validity is - but they did an experiment with most of the fast food places in America. Burger King was one establishment, so was Wendy's, and so was McDonald's - along with a whole host of other food places that I have never heard of, because I live in the UK. Anyway, they supposedly put a burger from each of these establishments in a jar each, and left them for a month. Then they took pictures of each burger after the 1 month period was over. All of the burgers began to fungus, except for the McDonald's burger, which goes to show that they put a whole load of chemicals into those burgers and food. I can't believe that we put that crap in our bodies.
Actually, you sound kind of crazy because you just went off on someone and started yelling at them so that you could defend a corporation. Do you own a McDonald's franchise? You seemed to take it really personally, as if the post is about you. What are you so angry about? Why did the comment upset you enough to make you jump to the defense of McDonald's? It just seems odd. Does McDonald's have their PR department lurking in forums now?
My weirdest McDonald's experience was a few years ago. The girl who took my order was putting the stuff in a bag, when one of her teenage enemies came in and started making fun of her for working at McDonald's. I guess this girl went to school with her and thought it would be fun to laugh at her for having a fast food job. Anyway, they got in a fight and when another worker gave me the bag, my Big Mac was missing. I guess I can see how a fistfight would distract her from my sandwich but it was still a weird experience.
My first job was at McDonalds, so I cut them a bit of slack in terms of how often they mess up orders. McDonald's, for the most part, are very busy places. You have a lot of impatient customers, and usually don't have enough help to get the orders out as fast as you would like. This creates a lot of chaos. So I think it's important for people to have a little bit of patience and understanding for these situations.
Yeah, they do tend to mess up orders sometimes. However, especially during really busy hours (e.g. lunchtime) or a populated city, McDonald's has immense pressure on them every single minute of the day because of the sheer amount of customers they get. Also, it's possible that you don't get your food because some of the employees just do not care whether you get all of what you ordered or not. When you're in front of a grill flipping burgers or squirting ketchup all day, I can imagine you stop caring after a certain point in time. The quality of work, pay, and general unhappiness of employees also are some of the main reasons why McDonald's has a high employee turnover rate.
I can't believe that people have not learned to check everything that they order before pulling off yet lol. I am twenty-four now, and when ever we've gone to McDonald's in the past - or even recently - we always have a thorough rummage through the bags and tick off everything that we ordered before pulling off, and letting the next car order. We've caught them out for not including some of our order before, and they have given us free food for the mishap lol.
