She is also the author of a number of popular cookbooks, including The Essentials Of Italian Cooking. The recipe for her sauce is deviously simple and easy to remember: 1 stick of butter, one peeled onion cut in half, and one large can of crushed tomatoes (don't use diced or whole canned tomatoes, since they aren't as concentrated as crushed tomatoes - which typically come packed with tomato paste as well). Throw everything into a pot and let it simmer for 45 minutes and that's it.
