I don't know why, but I love making my own jams and jellies in summer. I usually have an abundance of apples to make it with. My neighbor grows delicious concord grapes and we share grapes and apples. If I'm lucky I can find plenty enough blackberries (or raspberries) to make a run or two of jelly, though some years that doesn't happen. Plenty of rain this year so far, so I figure it'll be a good year for berry jelly (or jam). I also like to make at least a few jars of Apple butter, though I'm not quite as fond of it as I am of jelly.
