I still remember the days when people had beepers. They were considered stylish at the time and only high class business people had them. The beepers were extremely costly back in the day and they would even exceed the price of most smartphones that are sold today. I'm glad that I never had one. I feel like it's just a waste of money because it has extremely limited functionality. I wonder what it would be like if people still had beepers today along with smartphones?

There came a time where they became extremely popular that even kids had them, and even I as a kid had one. It seems silly now, and I can't exactly pinpoint on whether it was a useless experience or not although it probably was, but it was certainly an experience. I did have fun with customizing them though, so I at least was able to have fun with it.

Well thank God technology evolved, because if it didn't we would still be stuck using those outdated gadgets. I never had one, but it was considered a social status indicator back then. Looking back when I was paging messages to my friends, there was really no privacy, because you have to dictate your message to an operator.

I grew up in a very urban city. And if you were not a doctor and you had a beeper than people would assume you were a drug pusher. Where I came from that is basically who had them and what they were used for. I do remember at the time they were a luxury and only people with money had them. Maybe I was just a naive kid but at the time I thought it was one of the most fascinating pieces of technology. Looking back on it, I do not see what the big deal was. But I guess it was a stepping stone. It was the latest creation that paved the way for bigger and better things to come.

I had one as a kid. It's back before cell phones, and before cell phones were affordable. Mine was equipped wiht voicemail, so my friends could call me and leave a message and then I was able to call them back or whatever. It was a good way for people to get a hold of you before everyone had a cell phone. Obviously they are out-dated nowadays.

Yes, I remember beepers all too well. They use to be the in gadget at one time. I remember on a temporary job that I had in the late nineties I was required to wear a beeper because I was work on more then one floor. When I went back to working as a temp after being my mother's care attendant for several years, I worked with a girl who had a similar floater job then I did back in the nineties. Only she was wearing a cellphone to keep in touch with her office. I guess that just shows how times have changed from the late nineties to the year 2006.

Yeah I am definitely old enough to remember beepers. I also remember Beta
VCRs. I had a beta but never had a beeper. I also remember eight track tapes.
Never really got into 8 tracks. All this Old technology chat. I came across a coinage that I thought was really right on when talking about what has come and gone in the electronics world, techno-stalgia.

I totally remember those years where beepers were the hippest thing! It's funny now if you still have it actually. No one I know uses them anymore.

I remember when some of my friends had beepers. The beeper would go of and someone is out looking for a phone to call there mom. I always thought that part was kinda funny especially in high school when there was a line up for the pay phone. I never had one myself mainly because my father would think I would be up to no good if I did own one!

My mom bought me one, and she keeps beeping me every time for reminders.

Good thing I only carried it for a few months and then Nokia 5110 came out and texting became popular!
It saved me from more humiliation! As my mom never knew how to text up to now and she can not bother me!
