I have heard of those apartments where you pay a weekly rent instead of monthly. It seems like it would be lower maintenance since all your paying for is the rent and not utilities, internet ect... and your in a furnished place. Basically your paying for a furnished studio apartment with all utilities paid. Wondering if anyone has lived in one of these kind of apartments like Intown suites ect... and what was your experience? It seems a bit expensive paying over a thousand dollars a month but I guess when you factor in paying for utilities in a regular apartment, I just wonder if it would be worth it?

I did this once for about 4 months when I had to go to a different city for a work project. It was an extended stay apartment in a hotel that was really nice. Everything was taken care of in terms of laundry, dry cleaning, making sure I had a car to and from places and it was extremely convenient so I thought it was worth the cost. Since it was for more than a month or two I was charged per month as opposed to per week and worked out to be about $1500 more per month than my apartment but with all of the amenities I could understand why. This isn't something I would do on a regular basis but I think when traveling fo work it is a great option.

I lived in a hotel for a few months. Although it was convenient to have utilities included, there were prostitutes and strippers that lived in the hotel and came and went, and a lot of nosy people hung out in the lobby and gossiped about everyone that lived there. So I would recommend it if you have a nice extended stay hotel like the situation forextraspecialstuff described.

There are some really nice extended stay hotels in my area. A little on the costly side but worth it to know you are in a safe area. We have a large number of people visiting the area through the year since this is the DC area right between DC and Baltimore and now that we have new casinos opening it is going to be a bigger attraction area, these types of places help families travel and keep the cost down.
