Hey everyone! I frequent Las Vegas... I live in Western Canada and probably go to vegas once or twice a year! I've tried going multiple times during the year but almost always end up spending about the same amount of money on flights + hotel... Week days are definitely cheaper but just wondering if anyone knows of any specific date ranges that the hotels down there offer really low rates? The off season (winter) seems to be the same as summer!
Vegas is such a popular destination that there's no real "off season" there anymore. That being said, there are some dates to avoid such as New Years, Valentine's Day and most three-day-weekend holidays.
My hockey team is going down for a tournament, on a package deal. They are charging $355 for the entire package (three nights hotel & tourny fees). That being said, packages are the way to go. Look online frequently and even Groupons has some great deals.
If a person wants to travel to all sorts of places at a cheaper price it seems packages with a large group of people will keep the price more affordable. One hint I have if you want to rent a car when you travel, you will need to have insurance on the rental to protect yourself if you have an accident. There are places that will rent you auto insurance at a very affordable price, much cheaper than the auto rental place will charge.
I believe it best to browse the internet for package deals for Vegas. My family visited their last year and they found a great deal on cheaptickets.com that included airfare and hotel.
I used to work in a Las Vegas casino. The slowest time is after the fall school year starts in September. It's very slow and the casinos offer great deals to get people into the casinos.
I've been there a few times by driving. I never actually flew there. The airport must be packed! I wish it wasn't so hot in the summer though. In my hotel I could feel the heat on the glass. lol
That's a really great price! It's definitely recommended to go on package deals, although beware that some of them aren't such great deals if you're not going to be using all of the perks (like certain buffets).
Now a days it is so tough to manage travel expenses in Las Vegas, it is so much popular for its casinos and high style of entertainment.......
I'm planning my first trip to Las Vegas in August and I'm so excited. I'm using Expedia to get a deal by booking my flight and hotel together. On my package it also includes 2 free show tickets. I'm going to arrive on a Thursday morning and leave the following Monday. My flight is scheduled for later in the day so that'll give me extra time at the airport. I won't mind that. I hear even their airport has slot machines. When I was putting my package together I played around with the dates first originally going to just stay during the week but for the same amount of nights I didn't notice much difference at all in the price. So I figured I might as well stay during the weekend.
Yes. There are also slot machines in gas stations, grocery stores and some fast food chains. It's crazy. There are no machines inside banks, city buildings, schools, and libraries. Everything else is fair game.
I will have to keep that time of year in mind if we ever get to Vegas, but that is the best time to visit any place. We usually go to Disney at that time because the lines are so short! LOL
I live in LAS and love it here. I do have a tendency to infrequently edit this thread while passed out on the keyboard after a long night of drinking, so please do not fault me for my occasional spelling or grammatical errors and haphazard attitude.
