If you don't know the series, here's the backstory:Log In This time, you get to help me! My new apartment has a contract with a single company for internet/cable/phone. It's the only one they allow on the property, so I don't get to choose any alternatives. The problem is, it's the exact same cost for me to have internet service....as it is for me to have internet, cable, and phone. I don't actively use cable or a landline and in the past, I've intentionally not had them in order to save money. This time, though, it doesn't save me anything at all, so I might as well have the service, right? My question: What could I possibly use the landline number for so I can get some use out of it? I'm thinking I could use it as the number to sign up for services online so that any spam calls will get filtered to that phone instead of my cell phone. That seems pretty lame, though, so what else could I consider using it for?
