I'm shopping for houses in Philadelphia right now and my real estate agent told me about a mortgage from Citizens Bank for first time homebuyers. Basically it's minimum 3% down, but there's no PMI as long as your credit is above 680 (or something like that, you'd have to check with them). The name on my prequalification letter is PORTFOLIO DHM PLUS, so I'm assuming that's the name of the mortgage. Give it a shot! The down payment is usually the hardest part of buying a house, so this is super helpful. Happy house hunting!
