Hackers are scaring people who use credit cards for their purchases. Not only in online but also in offline transactions. Yesterday we shopped in the supermarket and the bill amounted to more than 12,000 pesos, that around $300. My husband used his credit card to pay for it. After a few minutes of signing the purchase slip, the credit card company texted my husband as a precaution that said call them if the said purchase was not done by my husband.

I would say it is very unsafe these days. We would never know when and in what form scammers are going to hit us. They have the most advanced strategies to steal our sensitive information and use it for their advantage. It is very essential to check authenticity of the site where we are about to enter our credit card details.

Always ensure that the site address is correct and it starts with https than http. Most of the sites dealing with financial transactions would also be having a padlock sign in the address bar. Requesting for an OTP (One Time Password) is another excellent way to keep scammers at bay.
