Have you ever made a payment online, and had your credit card charged a second time for no reason?

Haven't had that happen, but I did once get my credit card number stolen when I made a payment online on a public library computer. I had never thought about the fact that those computers could be hacked and someone was spying on what people were doing until I got the fraud alert and found out shortly after I made that payment, someone had used the card to try to buy several hundred dollars in other stuff online. So glad they have good fraud detection now and they caught that.

Luckily, I've never had that happen. It's certainly a common mistake or error that happens online. People get impatient and don't wait for their order to process and click twice, or the website malfunctions. I had an incident where I was charged 4 or 5 times for a hotel room. But all of my online purchases have went through smoothly and without error, luckily.

I have not had this happen, but if it did I would think it is a pain to fix. I have been on the phone numbers of times with various companies and there is always this wait time to get through. Then I explain to one person and they then transfer me to another and I have to explain again the issue at hand. Dealing with fixing the mistake is so time consuming. I hope I never face this problem.

Yes, this can sometimes happen if you accidentally hit the back button on your browser after completing a transaction/sale, for example. It can also happen if perhaps you accidentally filled in the wrong quantity of something and didn't catch it before you checked out. This happens to me with certain online shopping carts, where I put something in my cart, but leave the site and come back some other day to purchase it and accidentally re-add it to my cart, resulting in me having two of that item in my cart when I go to check out.
