I have done this because at times I just don't have enough money to make the dog food last until the next payday. I also have made a pot of rice and then added chicken broth to it as a meal for my dogs. One more cheap meal that I have given my dogs is $1.00 store hotdogs from, you guessed it, the Dollar Store. I simply cut up the hotdogs and then mix them with rice. What have you given your dogs when you ran out of dog food?
