I'd like to get some recommendations on what nice games I can download or buy for when I'm waiting for something for a few minutes. I always like to play something whenever I'm just standing in line or waiting for my food at a restaurant but those tend to only last a few minutes, like around 5 to 10 on average and So I'd love to hear of some games that I can play for that amount of time. I'd prefer something that wouldn't require me to go online first because I don't always have an internet connection and also I'd prefer if the game were available on iOS but as always please also discuss some for Android so everyone can find the thread useful.

Dots is a great little game! Each round is only 60 seconds long, but it's easy to get sucked in and play for 5 to 10 minutes. It's both for iOS and Android, and best of all, it's free! It runs like Bejeweled or Candy Crush; connect a line same colored dots to make a line and get points. If your dots make a connecting square, it pops off all of the same colored dots on the whole board, and gives you the points for all of them! It also makes these really cute wind chimes like sounds when you connect a line. :D

Shadowgunz Deadzone if you feel a little competitive, its a third person shooter and each round lasts about 3-4 minutes.
Otherwise arcade games like One more line are the best way to kill time.

I agree with Shadowgun: Deadzone. It's a great third person game with awesome graphics. However, it's hard to play that game and expect to win. If you want something much easier and less hectic, you may want to go with puzzle games like Candy Crush Saga or Puzzle Family. Or, you could go with online mobile games like Clash of Clans or Clash of Kings. These games are very cool. However, you do need to have a constant internet connection. :D

I was in the same dilemma yesterday. Good thing that I was able to download a few games the other day because they were on the 9 to 5 Mac's free for now section. I haven't tried them yet and when I was waiting in the airport yesterday was the time when I was finally able to give them a run. The two games that I would recommend are Electrotrains and Soccer2014. Both are games that are available in the iOS. They used to be free but I'm not sure if that's still the case. Both games are fun and both can be finished within 5 minutes. Enjoy!

There are literally five or six threads dedicated to the same topic on the front page of this section, and then tons more threads for single games. Dumb Ways to Die is a pretty good timewaster that you can stop and start over again with ease. It's been covered, too. Asphalt 8 is good for a couple of races in five or 10 minutes. It all depends on what you prefer playing and if you want something that's cumulative or a new experience with each playthrough.

For simple puzzle games I would recommend 2048, Triple Town or Cut The Rope. I feel that it's great to play some mind-stimulating games while on the go.

My favorite game to play online has been Candy crush Soda Saga! I have been obsessed with it, even though I'm not very good at it. I plaid the original Candy Crush a while ago and stopped, so now I'm playing Soda Crush. I even had a challenge with my boyfriend to see who was better but he clearly is better than I am and passed me a long time ago... he is 20 phases ahead of me! Nonetheless, it's a great pass time game!

Swamp Attack is a little gem I've discovered by accident and I'm so glad i did. It's a sick game and the best thing about it is it's an offline game. All you have to do is shoot crocodiles in a swamp before they get to you. As the level progresses, they move faster and other creatures starts to alliance with them. It's really exciting!

A simple yet challenging mobile game app I liked playing is Trivia Crack. It asks you all kinds of questions based of different categories. I had to delete the app because it was taking up too much space when I wanted to download more guilty pleasure apps such as Pinterest and Instagram. I know, I'm such a girl. What I play now is DeckHeros, but it's a lot more complicated and there's so much to do on it that it's definitely not a split second game. Someone already posted Candy Crush Soda which is SO much fun. I absolutely love this app. It's a good time waster.

One of the best, and one of the only mobile games that my smartphone will and can run is bejeweled. I installed it a couple of years ago, and it has a lot of replay value, and the potential to never get bored of it. It is am amazing game, and so much fun to pass the time if you have a spare few minutes to kill.

Unfortunately my favorite game requires an internet connection but it is one you can play for a short time and that is Song Pop 2. However ones that don't require an internet connection that I have played around with at one time is My Tom, Guitar Hero and Mash. I'm not sure if Panda Pop needs an internet connection or not but that is a good short game.

I play Bejeweled because it's fun, addicting, and it passes the time well! I used to play it all the time when I didn't have internet.

I'll toss in Hearthstone. Matches typically take between five and ten minutes at most, and it's fun and varied enough that you can play for hours without getting bored. Just making new decks is enough to eat up a ton of time.

Hands down candy crush! I also used to play words with friends and hanging with friends. I like playing soduku as well as mahjong. If you know how to play chess or checkers I'm pretty sure there is an app for that. I don't do crossword puzzles or word search puzzles as much. Anagrams are pretty nice games to play too.
