I bought a cheap brand of TV some years ago and it ended up breaking just after a few years, and seeing as I still spent a good amount of money on it since flat screens were still a bit pricey at the time, I now realize I should have just spent some extra to get a name brand so I'd probably have had a better chance of the TV lasting longer. I still got a good amount of use on it, though, so I'm not too broken up about it, but still, I think it's too short of a life span for such an expensive device.
