I tried this when they had their last free weekend event. I had a paid subscription with an old game that EA made (EA made SWTOR as well) and that subscription was canceled for 2 years. When I signed up for the free event using my e-mail that I used for my old subscription for a different game they all of a sudden started charging me again for that old game. It made me very angry and it still hasn't been resolved with EA. So my advice if you sign up don't use an e-mail that you've ever used with EA before.
