I just can't go through a meal without drinking something, especially if it's cold and refreshing, I didn't know it was a bad thing but I don't really think I can stop...

Yes, that's exactly what happen with most people, we are accustomed to bad habits that are harmful for our health and no one teach us better! Do you know that we should not eat fruit after meals as well? It's exactly like water, fruit should be eaten between meals and before meals, not after.

I'm save there, I rarely have food after lunch or dinner, but sometimes I might do even worse and have something sweet after dinner :)

Not eating between meals is good I think because we keep our appetite for the main meals. At the same time if we can start a discipline of drinking water and fruit between meals I am pretty sure our health will improve and we will lose weight, if that is the plan.

I do this and it does work to a certain degree, the feeling does not last very long so you will need to keep drinking. I'm sure there are other products you can buy somewhere that can help suppress your appetite. But if you are happy to drink lots of water, and nip to the toilet a lot, then drinking water is a healthier and cheaper option.

Yes it fills you up leaving less space in your stomach for food. Many trainers advise that you drink 2 glasses of water just before you eat so that you will eat less. Also sometimes your actually thirsty when you think you`re hungry. So instead of eating, drink some water and see if the hunger goes away. If it doesn't, then you`re hungry.

LOL, I like your conclusion! :D But overall I agree with what you say and let's face it, we need to drink water, water is good for our health and helps to clean our body and if it also reduces our appetite, that's for the better. I think we just have a discipline for these small things that really can improve our life.

Is it possible that it reduce our appetite *too much*?
As in, you need to eat enough to get enough energy but you are too full from the water so you don't eat enough?

I really don't think so, that can only happen if you drink way too much water, but if you drink just one glass or two I think you'll be fine. In fact, I am starting this experiment myself and I will let you know, what's the point in suggesting it if I am not doing it? ;)

Drinking a lot of water will not reduce your appetite. It will only fill your bladder giving the illusion that you are, however water passes through the body quicker than solid food, and you will be hungry again in about an hour.

That whole process is healthy to the body, the water passing through and it just might make us want to eat less because we fill somewhat full, I've tried it this weekend and I have to say it worked fine, I think I didn't eat as much and I was not starving right after the meals, pretty normal.
