I saw this project on Woman’s Day pinterest board Cool Dollar Store Project Get Gift! Materials Needed Masking tape, plastic animal, craft knife or sharp scissors, hot-glue gun with glue sticks, spray paint and metal or acrylic bookends Wrap tape around the center of the animal’s torso to create a guide for the cut. Carefully cut the aimal in half, keeping the edge as straight as possible. Run a thin layer of glue around the edge of one section of the cut animal and attach it to the bookend so that the feet are level with the base of the bookend. Let dry, repeat with other end of animal torso. Spray paint lightly, let dry, may need several coats.
A popular dollar store craft is to buy a cheap mirror and cheap fake flowers, spray paint everything the same color and attach the flowers to the mirror as shown in this pic.
Sounds like a fun challenge! You can find all sorts of things at the dollar store. Some products are hit or miss but there are a lot of common household items you can find there for less than big box stores. I like going every once in a while to see what I can discover.
