I have owned two different Android smartphones for a total of 2.5 years, and I have never paid for an app. It may be because the Android Market/Google Play has more free options than the iOS app store, but I have never been unable to find a free version of whatever app I'm looking for. I'm curious: what are some apps that you all have decided to pay for, and why?
I've paid for an app a couple of times because they have more options than the free version. I want to help support the developers because otherwise they won't make anymore apps. I know you can download pirated versions of the apps, but I choose to support them by buying the full version. The only apps that you would need to buy are the ones if your phone is rooted. If not, you're not obligated to buy them unless you want to help them out.
Nope, never. I always find the apk's online and then install the app. Some of them are WAY overpriced.
I had never pay a app before I would simply just download the free apps and play with it which is fine with me. I would hack my ipod touch and download free apps which those apps are to be paid but I jailbreak it.
No, I would never pay for an app. I do not have any apps on my phone but my kids do. I am not too cell savvy. I still get all my information on the computer. My kids have some great apps on their phone though. I think if it is something you are use to you would use it all the time.
I paid once. Never will again! I can find the app I want and it's free. Most of the free applications work just as good as the ones you have to pay for. I really don't need to pay for the pro version of the app because sometimes the free version works better.
I have paid for apps but then i jailbroke my iPhone and that gave me a whole lot of new possibilities and getting free apps is one off them it is great never having to pay for an app ever again i love the people who thought of jailbreaking ios devices.
I have had my android for the past year and I have still managed to go the entire time without purchasing a single app! The beauty of Android and Google I also still have all the best apps around.
I have paid for a couple, and both times, I was disappointed with the purchase. One app was too glitchy, and the other was no different than another free version (although it was supposed to have more options, they weren't up for use in my iPad). I will not buy apps anymore because in both my cases, nothing could be done to get my money back. If I can't find a free app, then I wait until one becomes available.
I have once bought a game however, its plants vs zombies. because my girlfriend will be waiting for me for about an hour, i set my ipad to download the game while on the meeting as she stays on the coffee shop and play eventually I too liked playing it
With Android you can get your money back if you don't like the app. I'm not sure if that option is available with the Apple store. There's really no point in buying an app unless it's absolutely necessary.
I agree with the initial post, 99.9% of the apps I download on my Android phone are free. There is always a free app for what I'm looking for. The only app I have paid for is PowerAMP because I wanted to unlock the additional options available in the paid app. Also, the free version was for a trial period.
I don't get the point of paying for something you can get for free. I'm sure there are app stores out there that charge very cheap, but I go for the freedom of downloading. I'm not saying to pirate them, but to find sites that give them out for free LEGALLY.
I used to but I have stopped as I easily get fed up with apps. I keep changing and refreshing so I only stick to the new ones only.
If you would check the Google Play Store, you would notice that there are a lot of people who also pay for apps (check the "top paid" section). I myself am a little skeptical when purchasing apps. When I find an interesting paid app or game, I first make a search on similar games and apps if there are some offered for free. If I can't find any, I'll make the purchase. The first Android game that I paid for is Virtua Tennis by Sega. There's nothing like it on the Android Market.
Is it any good? I've always loved tennis games. I used to play the Virtua Tennis 3 one on my PC everyday until I finally got to beat Nalbandian in one of the toughest matches I've (virtually) had to play Ah, good memories!
Nope, I sure don't. I will say that I have purchased a couple in the past, but they were actually for other people. They only cost a couple bucks and they still get used today, so I don't mind. Most apps I use are free, though, and I don't mind simply playing the trial versions of games and such. I don't want to spend money on apps.
Nope, I have never paid for an app and I don't intend to either. Most apps can be downloaded for free so I don't see why anyone would feel the need to pay. The app 'industry' is big business though so there must be a market for it.
I use to have an android now I have an Iphone that is one thing I do miss about android is the free apps I can't find any fully free apps on iphone I like to play a lot of games but every time I download a game it only lets me play a few levels than I have to buy it the most I have paid for a game is 2 bucks I wish iphone had free games tho
I have owned Iphone, Andriod, Blackberry and Windows phones over the years and I have never paid for a single app, I find the free apps do what I need.
