Here lately, my husband and I shop on a day by day basis. I work in retail so I'm at the store everyday anyways. I, however, plan on making changes to this whole shopping every day thing. We are both starting back on our low carb diets so we will be shopping once a week for groceries. I hope to stretch everything out to last a week at a time.
Oh my goodness, I shop for the week and month if I have enough money! I cannot stand the grocery stores and let me tell you why. I love my mother so much but she was someone who always went to the grocery store at least 3 - 5 times a week! My mom cannot drive a car. So, once I got my license at 16, she would ask me to take her to the store on weekends when I was out of school and it was much worse during the summer time because I worked. I would come home, exhausted from work just to have her ask me if I could take her to the store. I use to wonder why my dad was so annoyed with my mom sometimes before I learned to drive. All of that ended once I graduated high school and left for college! Even to this day I get uneasy when I enter a grocery store. Ugh!
I really do not like having to run back and forward to the store everyday so when I shop I usually get everything that I will need for that week. The only time I go to the store after shopping is if I forgot something or if I need something for college. Other than that I feel like it is a waste of time and gas to go everyday.
We shop for a day since the market and grocery is just a 500 meter walk from where we live. This is our dialy excercise already which keeps us away from sitting in front of the computer the whole day. This also minimizes left overs as we can plan what we eat for just a day.
