I get overwhelmed by the amount of variety there are for certain products. I like buying things that are basic and simple but these qualities seem harder to find now. In stores like Staples or Best Buy it's hard to find a good, normal mouse and keyboard. Everything is wireless or has extra features and multimedia buttons. When I want a new keyboard or mouse I'm either lucky to find the one simple, basic product somewhere in the middle of all the flashy new ones or have to shop online. There's a lot of weird varieties of cereal and other types of food now but I can usually find what I want if I go to the right market. I think the amount of variety now can make people angry and frustrated but I don't know how much of a real problem this is.
Sometimes, yes. I don't often go to stores with a shopping list. When I enter the store, sometimes I get overwhelmed by the number of products they have to offer. It's important not to get carried away with the consumer attitude.
I do get overwhelmed and I end up not knowing what I really want to buy. I try to know what I want before I go to malls or commercial areas, but sometimes I don't remember until I've already left the store. When there are a variety of options, I tend to look through everything and eventually, in the end, I only buy one thing or nothing at all. Usually when there's a wide variety and if I make a purchase, I tend to regret my purchase and I tell myself that I should've bought something else.
I have never got overwhelmed. When I go to a store to shop and I'm looking for a specific item, what I do is look through what's available and pick the cheapest one. The only place I'd draw the line is when I'm buying foodstuff. I'm very picky when it comes to that and maybe, just maybe, I could have a problem choosing the best quality.
Oh yes, I get overwhelmed all the time, especially since I like to always inform myself as much as possible about what I buy. I have often found myself standing in front of a big selection of more or less the same thing. In those moments, I always think it is best to go and look for an assistant to answer all my questions, or as many as possible. I don't like to spend a lot of time in stores, trying to figure out what would be my best choice. I have tried that in the past and my head was spinning. These days when I need something that I am not familiar with, I just go and ask some sympathetic assistant. But that can also be a challenge.
It can be overwhelming, especially at tech stores or for tech items. We now have all wireless stuff because the wired is getting harder to find. I personally like the wired because you don't need batteries and with three kids in the house wireless items get lost pretty easily. At stores like Walmart where there tech stuff is limited it's not overwhelming, however I recently took a look at the different cell phone planes they have and that seemed a bit to much. I'll just stick to what I have rather than going to look through all of those options and trying to figure out what is best for me.
It depends on the type of store... I love it when clothing stores and makeup stores have a vast variety, just because I am patient to look when it comes to clothes and makeup. But at a gadget store, house supplies or even stores like Ross or TJMAXX, I don't like it when they are too big because they can get overwhelming, specially when you are looking for something specific or when you are in a hurry.
I feel overwhelmed in any makeup section! I absolutely hate buying makeup because there are just so many different variations of one product. I also feel like this in Forever 21. That store is just one big thing of chaos, and although they have some cute stuff for cheap, the lack of organization on the rack throws me off.
I'm overwhelmed a lot more easily by grocery stores. I can never decide what foods I want to buy unless I come to the store with a list in hand, which I should probably do more often than not. Still, when walking through the deli, it's sometimes hard to stay away from the pricier looking meats and breads. Gotta respect how the stores are designed: Have the customers walk through all the fresh food before reaching the things they need (dairy products and bread).
Yep, the number of options available can be a little overwhelming! I'm ok in food shops because I only buy fresh ingredients, nothing ready-made, so it narrows it down to fruit/veg/pulses/dry goods like pasta, and I find the most choice is in snacks/ready meals etc which I avoid. For anything else though there is sooooo much to choose from!!! I tend to end up researching things online before picking what I want, I don't trust shop assistants to give me an objective view point, and to be honest even if I could ask someone else I prefer to understand the options myself. Last time I needed a new fridge freezer it took me 2 weeks of looking online at reviews and different options to pick the one I wanted lol, but I think it's important to make the right choice to avoid having to spend money all over again and replace it after 5mins use. I agree with the tech thing too, although sometimes there are loads of options but none of them suit you. Last time I needed a new mouse for work there were hundreds of wireless ones readily available, but I need a wired one for work and it was almost impossible to find anywhere with one in stock ready to collect that day!
