We used to feed our dog dog food, the brand is Beef Pro, (sometimes Lamb Pro) but he does not eat them at all unless he is very, very hungry, like when he hasn't eaten for a whole day. So now we just feed him table food and bones and he is much more happy. It's not really a requirement to feed your dogs dog food especially when they don't like it.
You can feed them anything so long as it will not harm them. The important thing is that they are eating something nutritious that will help them stay healthy. It does not matter whether it is expensive or cheap all that matters it is the content of the food.
