Here where I live cycling is very popular. As a matter of fact it's the second most favoured sport after football. So wherever you go, you see hoards of cyclists. Many of them are wearing designer label cycling outfits and sport all kinds of accessories and special attachments for their bikes. What kind of cyclist are you? Is the brand of your bike, cycling outfit and everything that goes with it, important to you? Or do you just enjoy the ride?
My bike is old and my gear is functional. That is how I would describe my gear. I cycle a lot and my bike and I have put in about 180,000 kms. I replace my gear as it wears out and rarely pay much attention to how it looks. As far as attachments, I have lights and a small cycling computer to record data. I am able to attach my GPS and my camera to the handle bars as needed. More often than not, the only special gear I use is a pair of well padded cycling shorts as they are a must have item for longer rides.
