Well if it helps to know this, in jail. Pedophiles or child rapists, are usually "dealt with" by other inmates. And in some of those cases, prison guards look the other way. So while your tax dollars may have to go to his room and board and food and cable for a little bit. They might not have to for the long run.
For this type of crime I would be encouraged to say heck yes. But none of us have the right to take a life, any life at all. It is a disgusting crime but in my opinion, I'd rather not have the blood of someone on my hands. I'd rather they rot in jail.
But that's not justice and definitely doesn't help to know. Its just a bunch of criminals trying to prove that they are not THAT bad.
It is an easy thing to hate someone who hurts a child. Especially in a sexual way. Even those who murder their wives feel justified in their hate for a child molester. Do we not see a problem in that? I am no better than everyone I did cite above but I do wish I was. I think Mark Twain encompasses what I want to say so eloquently: There is no forgiveness in the burning (or murder) of sinners.
There shouldn't be. Is hanging the solution? I am personally not sure but I would endorse it as a measure if it deters even one criminal.
Capital punishment should be banned everywhere in the world. It is ironic that the term pedophile literally means the lustless love of children and should refer to the type of love we should have for all children, not to erotic lust which we should never have for children. Pederasty is a more accurate term but seems to be applied only to man/boy erotic relations. Anyway, don't forget that most pedophiles were victims when young. It is good that we now are trying to break the cycle, but capital punishment is inappropriate. Remember that most sexual molestation of children does not end in death. It leaves significant damage, that is sure. Pedophiles should be imprisoned in special facilities. Pity the 20% of wrongfully convicted who end up there.
Well that's altogether different lol. If I literally caught the person in the act with one of my children, there would be no stopping me. I would later regret it, as I would prefer someone to rot away and suffer the rest of their days.. but yes.. in that moment, I highly doubt anyone would be able to contain themselves. I would hope I could stop myself before it got that far, but at the very least, they would need to be put back together if I was the one catching them.
I wish I could have personally hung the person who abused me for everything that he took from me and all the years it took me to feel okay again. Take them out back and put a bullet between the eyes. The forgiveness isn't for them, it's for you and can be done when they are dead.
I understand the anger of victims, and have had a number of friends who were molested as children. I understand how much they were affected by their experience. How do we deal with the fact that so many molesters are former victims? And why do we not encourage the healing of forgiveness? As a Christian I have to reject the death-penalty, since Jesus so clearly rejected the concept. We need to prevent the mentality that allows this to happen to begin with.

My opinion is that we need show NO mercy whatsoever for pedophiles or child killers. I imagine most of them would score very near the top of a test for sociopathy. A civilized society deals with problems effectively. Pedophiles in our society are not locked up for life, and even if they were, they could eventually be set free, for various reasons. We need to be rid of such scum!
Absolutely! It amazes me how bleeding hearts can somehow think the life of a scumbag is somehow more precious than that of a child! This crap about abusers being abused had to be the brainchild of some slick defense lawyer! I've known plenty of formerly abused children, and not one of them went on to abuse kids! If anything, their protective instincts kicked in! Society needs to get its head out of its butt, and start calling bad behavior what it is!
I am from the USA, and do not believe in capital punishment as well. The best punishment for those who commit disturbing crimes against others, is to lock them and let them rot in jail for the rest of their life. Death is to good for them in my opinion, suffering is better. By the way I like the quote you have from Will Smith.
