We are not coffee drinkers at home but I want to share this style of a colleague. He buys the ground coffee beans called Batangas coffee for his coffee brewer. From his computations, he spends about a third of the cost when he buys the instant coffee powder. However, brewing coffee beans is not easy especially if you do not have a brewer. But it's a pretty good trick.

For us, hot chocolate drink in the morning is our alternate for juice. Pure milk is not that nice to drink so we fill in with cocoa for flavoring which is very appealing especially with the aroma of brewed cocoa. We buy the choco tablets called Tablea. Like the ground coffee beans, the Tablea is around a third of the cost of instant cocoa drink. But like the ground coffee, you have to exert the effort for cooking the Tablea chocolate .

Swiss Miss is another alternative for hot cocoa, but I think that it's more expensive than the type that you have to brew yourself. I don't like brewed coffee since it doesn't taste sweet at all, it's too bitter for my taste.
