Geek Squad is way over priced! I love that they're there and available and can most of the time get the work done in a small amount of time, but it seems to me they are just really going overboard with the prices. I guess that's the business...they've got a great system going and they know people depend on it so they charge ridiculous amounts for the work. I shared in another post that I've had great experience with Best Buy and for the most part with Geek Squad, but sometimes you have to get tough with them and really get in their face when you want something fixed at their expense and not your own. You also have to be careful who you speak with because not all of their agents are tech savvy... Still, if you're smart and you're patient, Geek Squad is a great place to go to for tech support. They just need to bring those prices down!
My husband has made so much money on the side thanks to the Geek Squad. People really are realizing how overpriced the services are and how under-trained the staff is. Most of our neighbors will just come knock on our door with their computers in hand at this point. I do worry about "what if he messes the computers up even more?" but then again, the military trained him for this type of thing.
