My local Dollar Tree stopped stocking Pedialyte (generic version, of course), so I decided to find a good recipe and make my own. This is super easy to make, and it only calls for ingredients most of us have on hand. Granted, many children (and adults) won't want to drink this plain, although it doesn't have a bad taste, so I added a splash of blue raspberry syrup to mine.

You can often get low cost flavored drink and sno-cone syrups at grocery type stores, but if you're having trouble finding it, this place has the cheapest I've found, even with shipping included.

The bonus is that you can use it for other things, as well as homemade Pedialyte. All you need is a little splash, of syrup. The color of my drink didn't change much, because I used just a touch of syrup, and it was tasty, but not overly sweet/syrupy.
