I've been doing some secret shopping lately, which entails going to stores and evaluating their service and stock while under cover. I'd never been to a Raley's before, so this was my first time. The first part of my report was waiting to be greeted or helped, but the entire time I was there no one ever approached me. They seemed to be understaffed as well. When I checked the stocks of items I noticed that they were low on all the Staples I was supposed to check (milk/eggs/bread) despite it being 12 o'clock noon. Once I finally did get service the employees were short with me and seemed completely uninterested in helping. Maybe this one Raley's is the exception and they are run particularly poorly, but the experience was such that I never plan to enter a Raley's again. How do you guys like shopping there?
I used to live in a city that had Raley's stores. I'm not a huge fan of them. I've never had terrible service, but it's never been overly positive either. They're like a slightly smaller Vons, Safeway, Albertsons, or other store in my mind. It's hit and miss each time with respect to how I feel about shopping there. Some employees are great, and some are terrible. Same thing at every store. Still, Raley's has never stood out above the rest of the pack for me.
That really surprises me! I worked for Raleys for 15 years before I became a stay at home mom. Customer service was always greatly stressed. And I can tell you, they take the mystery shop reports very, very seriously. I like to shop at Raleys, but I prefer other stores just for the fact that I can save more money when shopping elsewhere. What Mystery Shopping agency do you work with? I would love to get into Mystery Shopping once my kiddos are back in school!
Its an alright store, I've never had a particularly bad experience at one but its not one of my favorite pla to shop. My mom is a huge fan though, go figure.
