Yes, I'm one of the unwashed masses who was turned onto the books thanks to the incredible Game of Thrones show. I'm only currently on the second title of the series, but experiencing the characters and environments in their original context has been really eye opening. For example, I've learned that Sansa's internal strength isn't very well depicted on the program, but in the books, I've found her to be a very compelling and interesting individual. Is anyone else currently reading these books?
Ok. As someone who has read all the books. What strength are you talking about? Sansa in the books is perhaps not as annoying as she is in the TV show but she's still comes across as incredibly stupid. I guess creating her as a character was GRRM's way of showing what happens when a typical happy fantasy character gets stuck in a world like ASOIAF.
