Does anyone here do their grocery shopping at Aldi's? It is fantastic!! I can buy enough food for my household of 8 for about $150. If I were to go to a big name grocer I would be spending almost $300-350 every week to week and a half.

My biggest complaint is that they do not accept food Stamps. That narrows down customer base, and limits the payment methods customers could use.

I shop at Aldi's all the time. I get some really great deals there. I just picked up a bunch of dried fruit. There were 5 servings in each bag for about .50 cents a bag. It was a manager special. I got some great deals on stuffing and potaoe mixes as well last week. I really love there fresh vegies.

    Absolutely!

We actually have a couple other threads going on about it:

And our Aldi's all take food stamps/EBT, so that's really unfortunate that yours doesn't. I've never actually been to one that doesn't and have always known Aldi's to accept that form because that's one of the reasons some people don't shop there....they see it as the "store for the poor." Silly, I know.

I love Aldi and shop there at least once a month. I like being able to get different kinds of food that you can't get anywhere else like true German food. I have a reason to believe Aldi originated in Germany. When my ex-husband was in the military we were stationed in Germany and one day i went for a walk and seen an Aldi. I was like what and looked inside. To my surprise it looked just klike the Aldi in the U.S. I always thought all the Aldis in the US tood foodstamps since that is where a lot of their business comes from.

I WISH we had an Aldi's close by. I hear so many wonderful things about this place. The next time we are visiting our friends to the north, we will need to make a trip there. Unfortunately, our grocery shopping options are pretty limited.

You're right - both Aldi and LIDL originated in Germany, but are now almost worldwide. I divide my time between Spain and the UK, and the stores - both Aldi and LIDL - are laid out in exactly the same way, with many of the same items on sale. Only the language and the prices are different.

I do most of my shopping in Aldi and LIDL, and just top up from other stores on the items I can't buy there. Apart from the fact that the stuff is so cheap, the staff are really well trained. You never have to wait long in line, and they never seem to make a mistake on the bill either.
