Have any of you heard of this store. Have you seen it in your area, maybe if you had you thought it was just another dollar store. I almost made this mistake myself when one opened in my area. I thought, why bother going in, I have other dollar stores that I go to all the time. But my sister and I decided to try it just once and boy am I glad we did. Yes, it has stuff that most dollar's stores have such as shampoo, baby products, laundry soap. But unlike most dollar stores, it also has a frozen food section, a produce section and bakery section. Yes, there is also a can good and non perishable food section as well, but once again this is found in most dollar stores. So, in other words, 99 cents only is like having a grocery store inside of a dollar store. I highly recommend checking to see if one of these in your area, or if you have seen it and haven't gone in yet, give it a try. Yes, on any given day of the week it can be very busy, with good reason, but the savings can be worth it.
There's one near my house and I actually prefer going to it instead of the Dollar store. I really like the fact that there is a produce section. I'm always frequenting the store because they are always getting new fruits and veggies in. The downside is that it's a first come, first serve basis. If you don't go in when they have the stuff in stock then you'll miss out. I also like picking up snacks there since they have a good variety to choose from.
I have been shopping at 99 Cent Only stores for years. I think they are mostly on the West Coast of the US. I also like to shop the Dollar Tree too. They sell different merchandise. I don't however buy any food from either store. I'm really picky about food. 99 Cent Only stores are great for paper and school items. I also like to pick up small electronics there.
There was a 99 cent store here that I went to a long time ago. Supposedly everything in the store was 99 cents, only when I was ready to purchase thing that was a boxed set, I was told each piece in the box was 99 cents, not the entire set. Needless to say I never went back again. Dollar Tree sells every thing at $1 or more than one item for $1, like some of the candy they sell. They also sell frozen and refrigerated food items, including salmon filets. I've never purchased any frozen fish, I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.
Here in the UK we have Poundland, I don't know if they offer frozen produce but they certainly offer refrigerated produce.
I heard a guy on the radio talking about the 99 Cent Only stores. He was really impressed with them, but I'm only the East Coast. I'm sure they'll be expanding. It would be nice to have one. For now, I'm happy with Dollar Tree and Aldi.
I've only seen the 99cents only store you are referencing in California. I remember when I was in my twenties and BROKE I would have to do my food shopping at the 99 cent only store. You could find everything from diary and eggs to Christmas ribbon. It was a lifesaver when I needed it. If I had one in my area now, I'd repeat history for sure. Nothing wrong with saving money.
Yes, I have also heard of Dollar Tree and that its also a great dollar store to go to. The only problem is there isn't one within walking distance of where I live. So, I go to 99 cents only instead.
